Casting Doubt

I am just not sure where all this paper casting is going… It makes so much sense on some days and on other days I feel silly casting cabbage leaves and making a huge mess in my kitchen making paper into the shape of vegetables. Today I cast with beeswax, which is the fun bit, tweezing out all the tiny bits of cabbage to reveal beautiful mirror images captured in liquid then solid wax.

The issue I am mulling over currently is the concavity/convexity issue as the vegetables have solid forms, particularly the artichokes and cobs meaning the paper cast will resemble the original shape of the vegetable. The cabbage leaves are a little different as they have two sides to each leave so can be flattened down and I can choose a side to cast. I am not sure what the artichoke will look like as a 3D object, I am worried the pattern will be lost and it will look like a boob, as the squashes did…
