Paintings in Progress

New paintings are emerging and I am excited about them. They are about all the things - grief, disrupted places, belonging, ruination, networks, fungi and myself. They aren’t finished but I like where they are heading - they are reminiscent of my old work but layered with more memories, cave paintings and ancient Chinese paintings. A long way to go but they are about depth first and not place, which is a result of all my learning over the past two years.

The top three are at a more advanced stage where there is more editing and deliberate choices being made - the smaller ones and the two larger ones at the bottom are still searching, exploring and building layers until something is unearthed. I am imagining the largest of these in the studio at 120x180cm and thinking I would like to go much, much bigger after the final show.
